Make sure you upload at least 720px wide images so they will fit each area depending on where they’ll display.
If you’re setting your default featured image settings under your Genesis > Theme Settings area, you can choose whichever size you prefer there as well.
Also, be sure and regenerate your thumbnails if your images are at least 720px wide and still not filling the space.
